In this one time lesson, we will read passages from the picture book Clean Your Room, Harvey Moon! by Pat Cummings. First, we will share how we can connect to the character in the story and relate to his challenge to keep his room clean. The students will work on their own personal plan to keep their room clean and tidy. Finally, we will share our writing together in order to get some ideas on how we can keep our rooms cleaner. Students will learn "how to" writing as well as tips and hacks to clean their own room.
I have been a homemaker for over 28 years, and I love learning how to make my home run smoothly and efficiently with minimal effort. One of my favorite things to do is to read books about homemaking and to share what I have learned with others. I have a vast library on this topic, and I also love to listen to podcasts about efficiency and being more organized. One of my favorite things as a college student was to spend my Friday afternoons doing my laundry, cleaning my dorm room, and getting groceries for my mini fridge. I love being able to share my enthusiasm and love for all things home with my students. Let's learn and have fun together!
