This class is appropriate for anyone familiar with horses, who can lead, groom, tack and ride. It is meant for equestrians interested in mastering all aspects of basic horsemanship necessary for success in the sport. Each week will focus on a specific unit/aspect of horsemanship, from handling to riding. Students will develop their skills in horsemanship, from proper equipment, grooming and feeding, to developing a conditioning plan and mastery of safe handling.
Hilary Moore Hebert is a professional equestrian with over 30 years of experience. She owns and operates a 22-horse farm in Maryland, holds her United States Dressage Federation gold, silver and bronze medals, as well as “L” education certification that allows her to judge schooling shows. Hilary is the former senior editor at Dressage Today magazine and secretary of The Dressage Foundation.
