Welcome! Do you have a passion for the planet or a growing interest in environmental issues? Then come join us for a one-time class where we’ll journey through the history, evolution, and global impact of Earth Day! Together, we’ll explore: 🌍 The origins of Earth Day, and how the environmental movements of the 1960s and 70s sparked global awareness. 📆 The holiday’s evolution through the 1980s and how it officially went global in 1990. 💡 The rise of technology and new environmental challenges in the 2000s, and how Earth Day adapted to a rapidly changing world. 🌱 Worldwide celebrations, and how different cultures recognize and participate in Earth Day. ♻️ A discussion on how we can make a difference by sharing ideas and habits around reducing, reusing, and recycling to lessen our environmental footprint. Whether you're an eco-enthusiast or just beginning to learn about Earth Day, this class is a fun and informative way to understand the power of people coming together for the planet.

In this class, we will be discussing pollutants and waste that has affected the environment. All discussions will be at an age appropriate level.
There may be some Youtube videos that are seen during this class. I will share my screen and learners will not need to access them on their own.

I have been an educator on Outschool since February of 2018. I have my MBA and MHA, both of which have taught me the value of conducting research and asking questions. I have a passion for history, organization, reading, and learning. You can usually find me in the middle of 2-3 books or watching a documentary.
I am also an Outschool ACE Educator, which means that I continually seek out ways to improve my teaching skills and knowledge, as well as the learner experience.
