Students work at their own pace. Students will have a notebook and I will provide a pacing guide of what to do for the week. This is just what I recommend, but the student may work at their own pace.評估
Assessments will be embedded in the notebook and students will receive a number grade. Students are welcome to reach out for feedback, otherwise - the score will be shared with them.等級
Students can receive a letter grade at the end of the class upon request. That grade will come from all tests/quizzes/digital lessons (like edpuzzles) and the final exam.等級

PLEASE NOTE that this is a self paced class. Your learner will move through the lessons at their own pace. I am available as needed. If a link is broken or an assignment doesn't work, please make sure your learner knows to reach out to me. With the new "year" timeline, sometimes my quiz links break and they just need to be reset. :) Grades are on request, feedback is on request. Once you've enrolled, open the documents, open the notebooks, and all materials and lectures will be in those notebooks. What will be taught? The entire biology curriculum. The standards can be found here: https://www.dpi.nc.gov/media/4070/open What topics will be covered? Ecological Relationships and Energy Transfer, Macromolecules, Cells (structure/function), Cell Transport, Cell Energy, Genetics (Mitosis, Meiosis, Protein Synthesis, Human Genetics), Evolution, and Classification. All materials will be provided. No experience is required as that is my purpose! It would be beneficial to have a science background (8th grade level sciences) to help with the level of vocabulary that will be introduced. Students should already have a basic understanding of science - but I will build on the rest. Note: The work provided for this course is rigorous. Attentiveness and effort will be expected to succeed and master the vocabulary. Please understand that the amount of effort your learner puts in to this class will determine how much they learn. I have designed this class to be just as you were sitting in a Biology classroom. Lots of practice, lots of reading, lots of working. Please let me know if any links are broken (because you have 1 year to complete, some sites DO close and some quizzes DO end) and I will replace them. JUST REACH OUT!

All materials will be provided. I will share the digital notebooks on Sundays @ 8PM EST.
Google Slides and Google Forms -- will be used to presentations, assignments, and lectures. These items will be posted within the classroom.
Edpuzzle - Students will need an account. This will be used to help students pay attention to the important points from a video.
Youtube -- Will be used to monitor video watching and in-depth questioning to make sure the learner is focused on the right concepts within the video. Students will need to make a free account.
All videos provided will be educational and will be a direct correlation to what we are learning in class.
