課堂經歷
This one-time class will get students fascinated by Pablo Picasso and inspired to create their own art, both during class and outside of it, in his famous cubist style. In a fun and interactive way, we will cover the life of Picasso, from his enormously long birth name (he had 25 names!) and first word ("pencil") to his lesser-known experience with various art mediums. Understanding why Picasso was drawn to create cubism will help students make a fantastic self-portrait in this style, using angles and color to convey emotion just like Picasso himself. My teaching style is relaxed, low-pressure, and encouraging. I believe children inherently want to learn about and succeed in their world, and presenting content in fun, relevant and interesting ways only enhances this intrinsic motivation. In my classes, kids learn a lot and have fun doing it!

供應清單
Students will need the following to complete their self-portraits: A mirror, phone with selfie-mode, or any other way to observe their reflection; Paper (heavy-duty art paper is best, but regular copy paper will work); A black marker or Sharpie; Oil pastels (oil pastels are best for creating the bright colors Picasso loved, but any coloring method will work, i.e., markers, crayons, colored pencils, etc.)

來源
We will analyze many of Picasso's age-appropriate, original artworks during class. We will also reference some excellent books on Picasso, which could be fun for students to flip through before or after class (but is by no means necessary):
Isabel, Maria. Little People: Big Dreams, Pablo Picasso. London, United Kingdom, Frances Lincoln Children's Books, 2021.
Hodge, Susie. Artists : Inspiring Stories of Their Lives and Works. New York, New York, DK, 2022.
