During this one time class, students of all ages will have the opportunity to discuss the oh so popular game of Minecraft while showing off their Halloween costumes, Halloween inspired builds, all while practicing their social skills, meeting new friends, and taking a chance at mastering some Minecraft Trivia! I, Mrs. Heather will guide their discussions, ask questions, and allow them to share their Halloween costumes and builds they are proud of with friends. Students may also share tips and tricks with others! This is a great way to socialize with friends in a laid back environment. I will keep the discussion moving focusing on who, what, where, when, and how comprehension questions! Students will be building on their conversational skills while having FUN! Students will also take a try at some Minecraft Trivia, to put their Minecraft knowledge to the test! I, myself have much experience in Minecraft, so I am excited to see and hear your child’s Halloween creations, costumes as well as tips and tricks! I am a very energetic teacher, I believe learning should be FUN to be memorable! I have a Masters Degree in Education and I know for students to really grasp information they must have fun while learning it! I plan to use their love of Minecraft to enhance their comprehension and social skills, both of which are so important to have! Please note: Being able to share your Halloween Minecraft builds is totally optional and students may join just to talk and listen about Minecraft if they do not have access to sharing it during class time, also we will not be actually playing Minecraft but will enjoy talking about it with friends! Students may share by holding their ipads/phones or other devices to their screen, or can share screen through zoom itself! *** Depending on students skill level, students may not learn any new tips or tricks but would help others learn from them!

Hi, thank you so much for showing interest in my classes! My name is Heather Rhodes, I hold a Masters Degree in education. I was a public school teacher for 8 years before now solely teaching online for 6. I am passionate about teaching and making learning fun. I am a huge Minecraft lover and love hosting Minecraft Social Clubs where students can not only learn more tips and tricks, practice their conversational skills, answer some higher order thinking and comprehension questions, but can meet new Minecraft friends around the world all while having FUN. I am also very passionate about teaching the fundamentals of a five paragraph essay. I taught writing in schools for 8+ years to help students prepare for state writing tests. In this class I not only teach the basics but also challenge advanced writers to enhance their essay writing.. I strive to make learning fun and memorable! I am a mom to a 5 year old girl, a 2 year old boy, and a 8 month old baby boy! I have such a passion for teaching children and making learning FUN & ENGAGING! Students learn BEST when having fun.
