* Please note that I welcome beginner guitar students as well as children who have never played the guitar before. * If you want to, please check out my NewBie Guitar Class + Student 10-Page Workbook before joining this course in order to learn some basics: https://outschool.com/classes/newbie-guitar-class-+-student-10-page-workbook-qyYyVr7f#usuu5xarZy Students will improve their musical abilities, in general, and will also learn: ♪ how to play the guitar, sing and strum at the same time; ♪ how to hold a guitar; ♪ correct playing position; ♪ proper hand position; ♪ how to count and play chords (C Major and G major, Am, G7, D Major); ♪ how to strum. Other skills children will learn in this class: ♪ strum at different tempos (fast and slow) ♪ strum with different dynamics: loud, quiet, from quiet to loud building momentum; ♪ how to follow chord patterns (with animals and colours for children who can't read yet); ♪ how to play multiple songs
🎵 My name is Bella and I have been a teacher for 20 years. I love teaching music, guitar and ukulele to young children because it gives them a way to FIND who they are, to EXPRESS their feelings, emotions and thoughts and to LET IT GO! 🎵 I have found that young children love playing musical instruments, making up their own songs, creating rhythmic patterns and learning a new musical instrument through story-type lessons. I am building each new lesson on their interests and passion, aiming not only to teach them a skill, but to develop a life-long LOVE for music, to SING, CREATE and PLAY the songs from their hearts! 🎵 My classes are fun, interactive, small groups of children where each child finds their voice and shines bright!
🌟 This is an inclusive class. Children of all abilities and disabilities are welcome. Including ADHD, Autism, Emotional Learning Disabilities, & more. Contact us with any questions or concerns regarding your learner's needs!
➡️ Learners can use a pick, but it is not compulsory; I actually recommend the use of fingers for strumming/picking. ➡️ Please make sure you position the learners, so I can see their BOTH hands when playing, head to the waist, in a well-lit room. The young learner can sit on the floor, with their legs crossed. If they are joining from an iPad/laptop, they can also be on the floor or a little stool, it can point straight or downwards. ➡️ Please feel free to send me a message if you have any questions or concerns. 🎵 The teacher will provide the songs and other files (strumming and chord sheets); 🎵 Students can have a classical or an acoustic guitar as well as an electric guitar plugged into an amp and also a CAPO. 🎵 Tuner App 🎵 Please make sure you tune your guitar before class as we will not discuss tuning in this class. NO books are needed for the stories we will retell and sing. I will provide slides of what the children need to read/sing.
