In this ongoing class, we will discuss the greatest findings in observational astronomy from the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) from the years 2022 and 2023! JWST was made by NASA (in collaboration with ESA and CSA) and cost the U.S. taxpayers a total of $10,000,000,000! The goal of this class is to understand the discoveries that are being made by JWST, the successor to the Hubble Space Telescope. - Students will learn about what the James Webb Space Telescope has discovered in the years 2022 and 2023.
I have a bachelor of science degree in astronomy & astrophysics from Penn State University with 3 years of experience as a planetarium presenter where I taught primarily high school groups in my live presentations. I am a scientific content partner with the Africa Space Institute where I create and present online classes for high school students in Africa. I have also been an astronomy tutor since 2019.
We will be looking at the James Webb Space Telescope data. We will also frequently look at other relevant images and resources from NASA, ESA, and CSA to supplement the James Webb Space Telescope's images.
