In these session, we will focus on what is considered grade 3 content. We will do two - three sessions per concept. I will cover the concepts in the order they are listed below, this is a typical pacing based upon my experience in the third grade classroom. Here are the topics that can/will be covered: One digit multiplication Division Multiplying in word problems Dividing in word problems Rounding Adding with regrouping Subtraction with regrouping Adding in word problems Subtracting in word problems Associative property Distributive property All of these concepts are topics that are essential to a students mathematical success. Building on their knowledge to mastery of these concepts will help them greatly as they continue to more complex math. In session one of each concept, I will introduce the concept as if it were the first day they have seen it. We will go through strategies that will help students understand each concept. Lessons will be taught with visuals, slide shows, and opportunities to practice.
