Learners will acquire the essential skills for using Google apps: Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Drive. This course offers how to’s and tips for each of these apps through interesting and engaging projects in each app. These projects will guide learners through exploring important features of the Google apps in context, and allow them to showcase their personal interests.

Taught by teacher Lauren Bonenfant in the Apples2Zippers organization: I was a K-8 school computer/technology teacher from 2016-2021 and incorporated Google's programs in many areas of my curriculum. I taught Google apps skills to students from Grades 1-8. I am also a Google Certified Educator (Levels 1 and 2) and hold a Masters degree in Teaching and Curriculum with an Educational Technology concentration.

Optional, if needed: Students may want to add on to their Docs, Slides, or Sheets projects after class, depending on how complex they choose to make them. Students are welcome to continue working after the live class sessions end.

A parent-supervised Google account is REQUIRED for this class. This can be a) a personal Google account created specifically for the learner under parent supervision and monitoring or b) the parent's personal Google account that the child is allowed to use for this class. Please avoid using work or school Google accounts for this class. (Personal accounts will have usernames/emails ending with @gmail.com.)
