課堂經歷
The Molly Manners 8 session program is a fun and interactive class where students will learn positive social skills that will equip them for life. When children also learn the "why" behind good manners, they will most likely retain what they learn. The Molly Manners program uses real-life, everyday situations students will encounter and is not stuffy or "formal" in its presentation. Class structure is in a personalized, one on one setting and tailored for each student's age level. The Molly Manners program has a solid reputation for teaching good manners using the Molly Manners copyrighted curriculum to include its own Flip Book presentations with animated graphics, activity pages, sticker charts for at home, and Polite Pals characters to teach each positive behavior. All classes will include a review and discussion of the previous class key topics. Parents are encouraged to enroll their child in eight, 30minute sessions so that their child completes the full program. Each class below is 30 minutes. *Eight Session Class Overview: Class 1: What do Good Manners Look Like? The Five Steps to Friendly Introductions. Making a positive first impression. The importance of good eye contact and proper handshakes. Tips for remembering people's names. Class 2: Words to Use and Words to Lose with the Merry Monsters. The words we use have power. What does respect for others and ourselves look like? How to give and receive sincere compliments. How to stop saying "Like," "Um," "Yeah" and other filler words. Class 3: Good Table Manners Part 1 The Dos and Don'ts of how to be polite at the table. Real-life table manners that are practical ways to remember and consistently use at home, restaurants (yes, McDonald's, too!) at school, as a guest, etc. Class 4: Good Table Manners Part 2 and Restaurant Dining Etiquette at Creepy's Cafe. How to order at a restaurant, interact with the server, good conversation starters and skills. Review of good table manners. Remembering to thank whomever paid for the meal. Class 5: Helping at Home and Table Setting Practice with the story of "Princess Spoonella and Troll Fork." How to set a table and specific ways to be helpful, kind, and considerate at home. Class 6: Party, Sleepover, and Playdate Etiquette How to be a polite guest and welcoming host. Opening gifts and showing gratitude. How to write a kind thank you note. Class 7: Good Personal Habits, Positive Body Language, and Xtreme Confidence. The importance of taking care of ourselves and our things. I like the me I see! Class 8: Everyday Etiquette Good manners on public transportation, elevators, opening doors, good movie/theater manners, when to remove your hat, cell phone/texting/social media manners and how to be a good sport. *If class time allows, we will begin the next lesson topic in each class.
