Beginning with story time, I will read "The Great Kapok Tree" by Lynne Cherry. Then with a video clip from Scholastic, we will examine the science of the Rainforest biome. We will discuss where the rain forests are located and why they are important to our world. The students will then color a map of the layers of the rainforest. Any necessary PDFs will be provided before class. Finally, I will provide an enrichment activity for after class to continue the study of the Rainforest. This class...
Hello from Texas! Although I am currently residing in Texas, we move quite often and that has allowed me to have many different types of career experiences. I have tutored privately and through well-known organizations; taught in the public school classroom setting with a self-contained classroom (including 4th grade and Texas History); substituted and interned in private school classroom settings; instructed at the community college level (History); assisted with museum operations; and homeschooled my three munchkins. I have worked with early education all the way up to the community college level. My Bachelors is in childhood education with a Master's in American History.
