We will focus on the Greek root word Ology. Students will be provided instruction on and examples of the root word, create a word family using related words, have an opportunity to practice using the root's meaning in multiple ways (handouts, verbal discussion, chat discussion, annotation, drawing, etc.), and learn how to apply this knowledge to deciphering unknown words. #academic As the teacher, I will provide direct instruction with immediate feedback and encouragement as we practice. ...
Students will improve their understanding of Greek and Latin root words and will be able to apply this information to deciphering unknown words.
I have been teaching middle school Reading and Language Arts for more than 18 years. I specialize in reading skills/strategies, teaching writing, and working with students at their own individual levels.
Paper and pencil will be needed for this course.
