What will be taught: Students learn to locate South America on a world map or globe. Students learn to locate the equator relative to South America on a world map or globe. Students learn to identify and describe three of the following and associate them with South America: countries (Brazil, Suriname, Peru, Bolivia), the Amazon Rainforest, Amazon River, Andes Mountains, Machu Picchu, and La Paz. Students learn to understand the meaning of the following vocabulary: eels, lily pads, warrior tribe, mountain range, ancient, and ruins. How will it be taught: doc cam, discussion, student engagement. Students will also get worksheets of maps and other visuals to help them understand about maps of South America. No previous knowledge is needed, great for students who love geography.

Parental guidance is helpful in case of technical difficulty or help for logging on to the zoom. Students do not need any expensive toys, furnishings or other items. They do need well designed space that is safe for the student to do activities/projects. Parental guidance is necessary incase student needs help with an activity with guidance. Such as gluing, cutting with scissors etc. There are no third party websites that will be used for each week for the lessons or signing in for accounts.
