This course is designed for students who have already completed a fifth grade math curriculum as a Summer review before entering sixth grade. Students will have plenty of opportunities to work with partners and play small group games. It is important for students to be active participants in class. We believe in creating a classroom community where all students feel valued and safe to make mistakes and celebrate each other's successes. We will guide student learning to meet each student where they are at and differentiate their learning. We utilize the Singapore method for teaching math. Each week, we will review a different math concept to get students prepared and feeling confident and having the foundation they need going into sixth grade. These topics do not build on one another from week to week as materials should all be review for students. Week of (May 30) Finding Averages Week of (June 6) Graphs Week of (June 13) Ratio Week of (June 27) Ratio Week of (July 4) Multiplication by multiple digits Week of (July 11) Division by multiple digits Week of (July 18) Multiplication/Division of Fractions Week of (July 25) Working with Decimals Week of (August 1) Multiplying Decimals Week of (August 8) Dividing Decimals

Students will gain confidence entering 6th grade math.
Students will improve their understanding of the math topic being taught that week.
