Pictures at an Exhibition, composed by Modest Mussorgsky, is a musical walk through an art exhibit. We will listen our way through the exhibit - like a field trip to an art museum combined with an orchestra concert! As learners listen to each of the movements, they will be able to draw or sketch what they "see" in the music. After each movement, we will have a short discussion time when learners can share their drawings, or describe what they heard. Interspersed in our walk through the...
This class is designed to be a small sample of beautiful art and music. It will help students to develop an understanding and appreciation of classical music. We will discuss various aspects of music such as major vs. minor, tempo, dynamics, etc. Topics discussed will vary class to class depending on the course of our discussion.
