In this class, students will learn how to compare two fractions with like denominators, unlike denominators, compare mixed numbers, and improper fractions. Students will use greater than, less than, and equal to answer the questions. Students will also learn how to convert the numerator and denominator to compare two fractions. The teacher and students will interact in class through discussion, problem solving, and questions. The teacher will demonstrate each task, then work with the students to complete a similar task, and then the students will work independently on another similar task. Students should know their math facts zero to ten and be familiar with fractions.
