課堂經歷
This is a fun needle felting class best suited for students with felting experience. This is a dry felting process using a barbed needle and wool roving to create a felted chameleon. Suggested age is 10 and up due to the sharp barbed needle, focus and dexterity required. The dry felting process of needle felting is achieved by continuously poking and stabbing the pure wool roving which causes the fibers to interlock and felt. 1st class: We will start off making a skeleton using the pipe cleaners. We will then use the green wool and a needle to start creating his body, head and tail 2nd class: We will add his legs and eyes. Markings may be added to his skin This is a guided felting class and chameleons may be any color the student would like *Please see Supply List below

Ruler Scissors Barbed needles (at least 2 in case of breakage) .5 oz packages of wool roving in green and/or any other colors the student may prefer - Cost less than $2 per color or you could buy a variety pack Small foam block - Cost is about $2 2 pipe cleaners I get my supplies at Hobby Lobby locally. Some Michaels have a few items. Another option is to order from Amazon, Ebay etc. My favorite brands are Artiste and Dimensions as the fiber is not too smooth and easier to felt

My teaching style: I am a rather introverted artist who teaches....I am told that I am patient, encouraging, focused, firm. I enjoy/work best with older students. I believe my students should be free to put their own creative touches on their work. I have limited experience with special needs students (ADHD, Autism etc) I hope this is helpful as you read through reviews and decide if your learner will be a good fit.

My name is Camille Jacks, originally from Jamaica, I have lived in the US since 1991. I was awarded a portfolio scholarship to attend The Savannah College of Art and Design where I earned a BFA in Computer Art and Animation and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
My hands are always busy and I love to teach myself new things. I draw, paint, knit & crochet (have written patterns for magazines) needle felt, dabble in origami, macramé, weaving and sewing.
I started my teaching journey as a Media Specialist at a private Elementary school in 2004 where my little girl attended. We moved to Georgia in 2007 and I worked for a company as a mobile computer teacher working with Preschool and Elementary school kids at various schools. The business did not survive so I started working for a company teaching art in the after school programs.
Before Coronavirus I was extremely busy teaching my own adult and kids classes and workshops (oil, watercolor and acrylic) at local county fine arts facilities plus Summer Art Camps. I also taught for a year at a Montessori school and simultaneously started my Outschool journey.
Once in a while I get to do something cool like be a guest demo artist (needle felting) at The High Museum of Art in Atlanta (July 2018). When I am not working I am a mom to a young adult daughter. a little bunny and a Diamond Dove.評論
