Beginner level class to learn how to play chords and songs on the ukulele

We will go over left hand positioning, and how to pluck and strum with the right hand. 
Then we will practice playing a song that has one chord and then songs with two or three chords.

Class Breakdown - 

Week 1 - String names, frets, and holding the instrument to play it.  Strumming along with one-chord songs. Rhythm games and learning rhythm patterns

Week 2 - Chord diagrams and strumming to songs. They will learn how to read a chord diagram and practice playing chords. We will play some simple songs and practice keeping a steady beat. More practice with rhythm patterns

Week 3 - Following a song chart and understanding where to switch chords
More practice playing songs. Strumming patterns and strumming techniques
More fun songs and rhythm games

My goal is for the students to have fun and increase their interest in learning more about playing the ukulele. 

The ukulele is a great instrument in itself and it is also a stepping stone towards playing other string instruments like guitar, violin and cello. 

The musical concepts they learn in this class are a basis for studying music in the future.
