課堂經歷
This one time class is for students who are English language learners. The class will be conducted in English but with lots of visuals and supports for all learners. Students who have 0-2 years of English language learning will find this class useful for practicing vocabulary and understanding U.S. culture about superstitions. We will watch 2 short video clips describing common superstitions and then use a Google slide show to practice vocabulary and pronunciation of the words that relate to superstitions. We will practice the new words through questioning, asking for volunteers to raise hands to complete the sentences and describe the pictures. There will be a chance for students to make comparaisons to their own cultures by saying whether this superstition exists in their culture and/or whether they believe it. We will practice describing the superstitions in a fun and interactive way.
學習目標
Students will be able to identify 10 common superstitions from the U.S and use new English vocabulary to describe them.

These are the three videos we will watch portions of (not full videos). Students will not be clicking on youtube directly. Teacher will be playing 1-2 minutes of videos in presentation mode to demonstrate vocabulary and work on listening comprehension.

Hi! My name is Megan and I'm a mom, a teacher, and a world traveler! I love learning languages and discovering new cultures, having lived in the US, France, Belgium and Ecuador.
