I love helping kids practice how to multiply and divide fractions. After introductions, I ask students about their prior experience with the topic. I will supply sample problems, ask questions, ask for volunteers, and encourage learners to work along with me on their own paper. Students might be asked to reply in the comments on Zoom, answer using the microphone, or to interact/annotate with me on the Zoom whiteboard. I like to check in with the kids during our sessions to gauge their level...
Topics covered in this fast paced intro: - Cross cancel (reducing/simplifying) - Multiplying fractions - Steps for how to divide fractions - GCF (greatest common factor) reminders - Reminders of real life examples - Reminders of converting improper fractions to mixed numbers

I recommend that students have paper and a writing utensil to be able to complete the problems as we progress. They can keep this paper as a review sheet after the class is complete. *Optional - Stylus/Apple pencil if we open annotating on the whiteboard. Note - does not always work with Chromebooks
