課堂經歷

***Please note, this group is not for kids under eight, but I do offer FNAF clubs better suited for younger learners, so please check them out! Also, you do not need to have been in any of my other FNAF clubs to join this one.***

In this exciting five week adventure, we are going to deep dive into the lore of FNAF more than ever before. Five Nights at Freddy’s is an incredibly deep universe of intricate stories, evolving characters who play many rolls, and tons of atmospheric imagery. I learned from teaching a Halloween class with FNAF drawing that fans of this particular fandom are SUPER MEGA FANS. They love to use their imaginations to create vivid illustrations from this universe while talking enthusiastically with like minded friends. Therefore, I’d like to give them another chance to meet repeatedly with friends so they can get to know one another while learning and critically thinking.

In THIS round of FNAF with Miss Amanda, we’re going to take an all new approach. For the first four meetings, I will present a list of FNAF characters and each club member can pick two to “vote” for. Whichever two characters garner the most votes, we will create a totally unique “mashup” of those two characters! We will do a lot of discussion and exchanging stories and fan theories to determine who everyone’s favorites are!

Once we decide, we can all communicate ideas for how best to draw these awesome (GRUESOME) characters. I will demonstrate ideas and suggestions and artists can follow along. Or, they can completely do their own thing! They are in charge of their creations! At the end of each meeting, students will be invited to hold up their artworks or to post them in the classroom to be shared on Instagram/Facebook (with parent permission.) On the other hand, students who would prefer to participate quietly without discussion or sharing their artwork are also welcome. Everyone in this club is free to enjoy the experience in the way that suits them best.

There will also be a SECOND important mission in this club, and that is to collaborate and write OUR OWN FNAF fanfiction! We will discuss the elements of a fantastic horror story, and make connections to the best parts of the FNAF lore. Maybe the characters we create when we draw will inspire our story, or maybe the learners will want to expand on a favorite fan theory. After much discussion and exchange of ideas, we will finish with a story that is dying to be told.

Meeting five will be dedicated to finishing up our story. After our club is finished, I will then PUBLISH our story on my website, and some other popular Internet fanfiction sites and will follow up with students to let them know how the world has liked our spooky tale! Any learner who prefers to have their name left off the published piece may do so, and some kids like to choose a pen name. Otherwise, I will publish each learner’s first name as a coauthor for the story.

I endeavor to create a collection of creepy stories for kids on my website which offer the horror without the profanity our other unnecessary adult themes. I aim to give my students an opportunity to take pride in their work and see what it’s like to be a published writer. I recently finished my first student collaboration story and published it. In under a week, the kids have earned over a thousand views of their story and five horror podcasts have approached me asking permission to narrate it! Therefore, the story writing is proving to be an engaging experience that can keep us connected long after class is over.

After each class I will provide a printable drawing guide and creepy FNAF coloring page. Also, I’ve seen that FNAF fans LOVE Funkos, figurines, and plushies, so I designed four custom made paper figurines for them to print and assemble. These will be provided with the welcome post as soon as you enroll! I look forward to seeing you.

其他詳情

父母的引導和規範
This drawing class is pertaining to creepy video game characters, though they will be portrayed in a “cute” way. Students may discuss the game or some creepy topics. If your child is not into creepy topics, this is probably not the right class for them!
供應清單
During class, they will need a pencil with eraser, a black pen for outlining, such as a Sharpie marker, and blank pieces of paper. We will draw multiple characters, so they can draw them all on one sheet, or reserve separate paper for each.

As a professional artist and author, I find great joy in exploring fun art styles and telling stories with kids. Creating stories and illustrations together with kids offers them the ability to make artistic choices and to keep their brains energized and engaged with the creating process.
