External sources like Nearpod will be used in this class. You do not need an account for this resource. The Nearpod activities will direct your learner to other resources like Quizlet and Google Slides which do not require an account, but may require the learner to give their name to participate. Google Slides may also be used for brainstorming purposes. These activities are only available to the learners in this class.
In addition to the poem about John Henry in the IEW Student Book, your learner will also read a short story that can be found here: https://www.sps186.org/downloads/basic/676894/raz_lm26_legendofjohnhenry_clr.pdf This source is well under the comprehension level of your learner, but that's OK. We are just gathering information to make inferences about John Henry's character and story of his life so we can write a well-constructed and well-informed essay.
