泡沫爆炸！

Prepared to be amazed as we discover how acids and bases mix together!  Students will use a variety of different liquids with baking soda to see what the reactions are.  To make it more fun, we will color our experiments with food coloring to make a super colorful experiment!  We will start the class by first discussing how solids dissolve in water.  Students will use cold and hot water and discuss how quickly the solids dissolve with these different temperatures. Next, we will discuss what an acid and a base are(age appropriately of course) and then make some guesses as to what will happen when we mix our vinegar/lemon juice and baking soda together.  We will experiment with different types of containers to see how the reaction is affected by the size and shape of different containers.  At the end of class, students will have a chance to share their thoughts about our experiment.  This class will be fun, interactive, and awe inspiring and is sure to be talked about in your household for weeks to come!
PLEASE NOTE:  Parental supervision and help will be necessary for this class, especially with the hot water segment of our class.  All materials used, besides the hot water, are safe for handling with young learners.  But, you may want to wear some play clothes and have some towels near by for clean up.
