In this course, students will learn how to write a first-grade narrative piece complete with characters, setting, events, problem, solution, and the moral (lesson). Each week a new building component of narrative writing will be introduced, identified, and practiced. Your child will engage in educational writing games and writing each week. I will model the skill, practice it with them, and then give them an opportunity to practice it independently.

Can you write a story?
In today's lesson, you will show what you know about narrative writing. You will write a real or imagined story that includes characters, setting, problem and solution. After we've completed our course, we will look back at this writing to see what we've learned. 30 分鐘線上直播課

What is Narrative Writing?
In today's lesson we will learn and identify the components of narrative writing. We will learn what a rubric is and view our narrative writing rubric. We will play a game to test our knowledge of the components of narrative writing. 30 分鐘線上直播課

Inside Out Characters
In today's lesson we will reference the characters of Inside Out to learn about physical and character traits of characters. We will then create our own characters using adjectives (physical traits) and character traits (personality traits). 30 分鐘線上直播課

Introduce Your Character
In today's lesson, we will practice writing to introduce a character. I will model for you first, we will write a character introduction together, and then you will practice writing your own character introduction. 30 分鐘線上直播課

父母的引導和規範
Please be advised that we will reference folk tales and fairy tales during this course. Please let me know at the beginning of the course if there happens to be a folktale that you would not like your child to experience. The story is selected base on the makeup of the class but will be provided at lease a week before the session takes place.

Optional: A Primary Composition Writing Notebook, preferably with a drawing space at the top. A PDF of primary writing paper will be available upon request.
