We will start class by analyzing the definition of volume and the definition of prisms. Students will then be presented with the formula used to find the volume of prisms. We will discuss what each part of the formula represents and how to find it on a prism. We will then use a table to organize our data. I will solve a problem while explaining each step. Students will then work on some guided practice examples. Once students have worked through the guided examples they will work on a few...
Students will learn to find the volume of prisms by using the volume of prisms formula.
This is a lesson that I have taught both in a public school with a class of 30 students and in private tutoring setting, and I have always been able to identify the misconceptions regarding this lesson. This helps me adjust the lesson to individual needs.
