This class should be taken as a continuation to the course on area of basic figures and the course or area of a circle . Students are expected to know or at least have previous experience with the formulas for finding the area of triangles, rectangles and circles. Students will find the area of composite figures by breaking it down into familiar shapes.
This is a lesson that I have taught both in a public school with a class of 30 students and in private tutoring setting, and I have always been able to identify the misconceptions regarding this lesson. This helps me adjust the lesson to individual needs.
