In this exciting and innovative class, learners will embark on a creative journey into the world of Adobe Photoshop's cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools. The class will include fun and engaging projects that encourage students to use AI to create enhanced and imaginative artworks. This class is designed to introduce budding artists and photographers to these remarkable AI tools and inspire them to unlock their creative potential. This class not only explores the exciting world of Photoshop's new AI tools but also places a strong emphasis on fostering ethical awareness and responsible use of this technology. Students will engage in thoughtful discussions and practical exercises to gain a deep understanding of the ethical implications surrounding AI in image editing, ensuring they become responsible and conscientious digital artists. The order in which the topics are taught will depend on the prior experience of the student and delivery will be adapted to suit learner needs. Over the course of 4 weeks, learners will cover the following content: ✳️ What is Artificial Intelligence and how it is integrated into Photoshop? ✳️ Students will practice using AI tools to enhance, retouch, and manipulate photos, including exploring how AI can help restore old or damaged photographs to their former glory. ✳️ Object Removal: Explore how to seamlessly remove unwanted objects from images using AI. ✳️ Smart Selections: Discover the power of AI-driven selection and masking techniques for precise editing. ✳️ Intelligent Filters: Understand how AI can enhance photos by applying intelligent filters for various artistic effects. ✳️ Ethical Considerations: Discuss the responsible use of AI tools in image editing and the importance of respecting privacy and copyright. -------------------------------------- Please read the parental guidance notes below to check that you are able to meet the requirements for class. Please note, learners will need access to different device or screen to the one they are working on so that they can watch the teacher demonstration.

✳️ Learners will explore and implement a range of tools within Adobe PhotoShop® tools to create their own AI generated/edited images ready for export. Learners will be given guidance on how develop their designs further outside of the classroom.
✳️ Learners will engage in thoughtful discussions and practical exercises to gain a deep understanding of the ethical implications surrounding AI in image editing, ensuring they become responsible and conscientious digital artists.

✳️ This class requires learners to have latest desktop version of Adobe PhotoShop® (version 25.1.0 or higher) installed before class. it is recommended that you check that your computer can support the app before signing up to class; the required system specifications can be found at: https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/photoshop/system-requirements.html
✳️ Parents can purchase a subscription to Adobe PhotoShop® before class, via the App Store as a single app or as part of a Adobe Design Mobile bundle: https://apps.apple.com/app/id1018784575/

Students may find it helpful to have access to an image library such as the free version of Canva.com. Canva requires all account holders to be aged 13 or older. It is recommended that all students log in with a parent account.
Adobe PhotoShop® is a complex but exciting editing package – learners will need to have realistic expectations about their level of achievement in each session. They are welcome to use the classroom messaging system for further guidance if needed after the class. Learners will need access to different device or screen to the one they are working on so that they can watch the teacher demonstration.
