In this class, we will learn about what energy is and about the 3 kinds of energy heat, light and sound. We will learn the difference between stored energy (potential energy) and the energy of motion (kinetic energy). We will also discuss the ways we produce energy from fossil fuels like oil, coal and natural gas. We will then spend time exploring alternate forms of energy by having students present on their chosen alternate energy form (solar, wind or water). Week 1 - What is energy? 3...
Students will understand the definition of energy, where it comes from, the different types of energy. Students will do a small research project about renewable energy and have a chance to present it to other students.
