Join this course to go on an exciting journey into the world of Artificial Intelligence! Each week during the sessions, we will cover a variety of topics and explore many resources. We will explore its core concepts like machine learning, neural networks, natural language processing (NLP), and the fascinating potential of generative AI. Through interactive lessons, videos, and hands-on activities, students will learn to understand and appreciate the power of AI in our daily lives. We'll cover key definitions, explore real-world examples, and engage in discussions to further grasp the fundamentals of this rapidly evolving field. Students can expect a blend of instruction, conversation, games, and practical exploration, where curiosity is encouraged and discovery and fun in earning is the goal. Links and resources will be provided for continued learning beyond the classroom. Join us to unlock the secrets of AI and discover its potential!

I have more than 25 years of teaching experience, and during that time, more than seven years of experience teaching, researching, and presenting on artificial intelligence, I bring a deep understanding of the subject to my work with students and educators. As both an educator and an attorney, I have explored the legal, ethical, and practical implications of AI in education, helping schools navigate emerging challenges. I have taught AI-focused courses to students in grades 8-12, designed an AI curriculum for 5th graders, training for adults, and created real-world applications of AI for the classroom.
My work extends beyond direct instruction—I have led more than 100 sessions of professional development for educators, provided keynote presentations, and written a book on AI that has been used in book studies. My expertise also includes emerging technologies, cybersecurity in education, and integrating AI into STEAM learning, ensuring that students and educators gain a comprehensive understanding of the topic.
In addition to my AI-focused teaching, I have extensive experience working with students across various grade levels in multiple subject areas, including French, Spanish, and emerging technologies. I currently teach an 8th-grade course on emerging technology, where we explore AI, cybersecurity, the metaverse, and the future of work. My experience spans virtual and in-person settings, from synchronous remote learning environments to hands-on classroom instruction. Beyond K-12 education, I regularly work with educators, media specialists, and school leaders to implement AI and technology initiatives in their schools. Whether through lesson design, interactive workshops, or real-world projects, my goal is to empower students and educators to implement AI in meaningful, ethical, innovative, and responsible ways.
