In this one time class, students will learn the different states of matter and be able to see a gas. The teacher will use slides to show the states of matter as well as talk about chemical reactions. All students will have a turn to say what their hypothesis is as we work through the steps of the scientific method. Students will be exposed to the scientific method throughout the experiment including making predictions before our experiment and drawing conclusions at the end. This class is...
12-16 oz soda or water bottle filled 1/3 of the way with vinegar Balloon Baking Soda Small funnel for putting baking soda into the balloon Teaspoon permanent marker At one point in the experiment, we will need to carefully attach the balloon to the bottle, so your child may need help with that.
Student's may need assistance for part of the experiment. We will be using a permanent marker to draw a heart on our balloons.
