Paragraphs are the building block of quality writing. Before students can tackle longer writing assignments, it is crucial to master the paragraph. This class will walk learners through writing a basic paragraph together, focusing on the writing process and elements of a paragraph. We will begin with brainstorming and organizing a paragraph with a bubble (or mind) map, and cover topic sentences, supporting details, and closing sentences. I have a Bachelor of Arts in English, and held a Professional Teaching Certificate in Florida to teach English in grades 6-12. For the past several years I have taught small group classes on essay writing, including how to write paragraphs.
