A positive experience while learning a new language is extremely important in building a lifelong love of speaking that language. In this ongoing class, students will have the opportunity to practice their English conversational skills with a patient, experienced ESL teacher and their peers. This class is great for beginners through intermediate level speakers! I will use pictures, props, and TPR (total physical response) to convey language points as necessary to facilitate conversations. The class will be conversation-based, and will include topics like hobbies, sports, entertainment, family, pets, food, weather, school, holidays, "would you rather", and "all about me". In some classes, we will cover one topic, and in other classes, we may cover several depending on the current pertinence. Students will practice their conversational skills, and I will provide additional ideas to them regarding how to express themselves more effectively in English. ***NOTE: I will provide some pronunciation and grammar corrections, but the main goal of this course will be building confidence through conversational practice. Students desiring more pronunciation and grammar corrections should enroll in my individual tutoring sessions to work on this more effectively.

Hello, and welcome! I am super excited to offer classes and clubs for a variety of topics!
I love being a teacher! I am patient, enthusiastic, and passionate about making learning fun for every student. All of my classes are inclusive for all children, and are ESL, neurodivergent and autism friendly. I have experience teaching children in all of these groups and of varying ages, learning styles, academic abilities, and English proficiency levels. I look forward to meeting your child in the classroom for an exciting learning adventure!
I have an M.S. in Psychiatric Rehabilitation from the University of Medicine and Dentistry, NJ. I also hold a B.A. in both Psychology and Sociology, with a Criminology Certificate, all from Rutgers University. In addition, I earned a TESOL Certificate.
My teaching specialties include preschool skills, elementary education, ESL- English as a Second Language, life skills, and coping skills. Some of my other interests are video games, board games, travel, Disney, crafts, cooking, and baking.
My employment has always included teaching or counseling. I have taught in a daycare center, a children's developmental center, schools, and a psychiatric day program. I also have 5 years of experience teaching children English online. Educating all of these students has been very rewarding, and I am thrilled to be offering classes on Outschool.
**** To ensure learner privacy, safety, and comfort, which are of the utmost importance, class recordings of social clubs/classes will not be shared.
****TRANSFER POLICY: I am flexible regarding transfers to another section of the same class (if available), but all transfers must be requested at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled class in order to allow another student the opportunity to enroll in your child's spot. Transfers cannot be granted for missed classes, or for requests made within 24 hours of the scheduled class. Transfers are only available for the same exact class, within the same Outschool week, which ends on Sunday.
