課堂經歷
Students will revise Key Fraction Vocabulary - numerator, denominator, unit fraction, half, third, quarter, fifth. They will also be introduced to the terms equivalent fractions and simplest terms (or reduced fractions). The session will start with an introductory chatty activity. We will then enjoy at lest two interactive activities, one with objects brought to the class (or drawn with pen and paper), the other being a match up game on the screen. Students will understand that fractions can look different but be worth the same. They will have met the term equivalent fractions and hopefully be able to find equivalent fractions of their own. Some maybe happy with the concept of simplest terms (or reduced fraction) too.
Please bring 24 little near identical objects, in two different colours or shapes (12 of each colour shape). You could choose lego (see my picture for this class - I have 12 red and 12 purple) or pasta (12 tubes and 12 twists). Please also bring pen and paper :)
