Does your child love to build and use their imagination? 

Learners in class will be able to unleash their imaginations and create with play dough, magnetic blocks, building bricks, or anything they wish to build with.  We will have fun creating structures and writing about them. The only limit is their imagination! Class will begin with an ice breaker that encourages conversation. Then, I will introduce the topic of the week. Learners will have time to plan their structure, build, and improve their work. This will encourage problem solving. Learners can also share their ideas with their classmates to encourage collaboration. We will build friendships by having stimulating conversations during our building. Learners will practice conversation about what they are making, and they will have time to share and ask questions. I will lead students to create stories, poems, informational pieces, or opinion pieces to go with their structures through modeling and questioning. Learners will practice taking turns listening and talking. This class will be a fun sensory experience, an opportunity to make new friends, and a chance to develop their author's voice. If time allows, we will practice editing and revising our work, sharing our work with others, and discussing Glows (what we did well) and Grows (something we can improve).

Learners will build and write about a wide variety of topics, such as fun seasonal prompts, entertaining places to visit, and exciting experiences! Learners will write poems, stories, information, and opinions. This class is wonderful for both the reluctant writer and the child who loves to write. If learners run into "writer's block", we have a quick conversation about the prompt and that will help them get their thoughts on paper. If time permits, we may read a book that goes along with the theme.

Learners will engage in conversation, listening, and feedback.
