💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰In this four time Social Studies class, the focus will be on economics. In the first week, the students will learn that NEEDS are things they cannot live without and they must have them to survive and stay alive. A WANT is something they would like to have but don't need them to survive. The following week, the students will learn about goods and services. A GOOD is something that has been made or grown. A SERVICE is a job someone does to help people. The next week's focus will be on producers and consumers. A CONSUMER is someone who buys goods or services. A PRODUCER is someone who makes or grows goods. In the final lesson, the students will create a poster of US coins and their values. Hi! Welcome to my Outschool classroom.
My name is Betty Nilssen. 💕
I have a BS in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish from UW-Milwaukee. I am a first grade teacher, but I have also taught second, third and fourth grade, full inclusive classrooms. My teaching license certifies me to teach grades 1~6. My passion for teaching reading while incorporating phonics, phonemic awareness, rhyming, comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, science, social studies, math, drawing and writing helps children strengthen their academic skills while they gain academic confidence and a love of learning. Teaching reading is my super power. I can support your young learner.
I have three adult daughters and two of them are teachers. My mom was also an educator.
There are so many books to read, words and sentences to write, math equations to solve and fiction and non fiction pictures to draw and label. Let's get started!
