I often have optional exercises for students to practice. I am always interested to hear from learners putting my lessons to use. I would love to see photos and videos of any of these skills in action so that I can give feedback.我們無法翻譯此文,請刷新頁面並再試一次。

What many modern people call "survival skills", our ancestors simply called "life". 🐗 The content we cover equips learners with self-sufficiency knowledge to grow their relationships with nature. They will become better problem-solvers, better campers, and better community members. When challenging circumstances arise, learners will have the preparation and confidence to take leadership roles. 🐻 Come learn from a Wilderness Guide who has walked the walk. This class offers learners a lot of participation as we journey through presentations that include homemade footage and exciting scenarios. 🦌 Each week we will cover a valuable topic such as: Survival shelters, campfires, cooking, water purification, working with tools, making cordage and tying knots, navigating, sustainable gardening and hunting, food processing and preservation (drying, canning, freezing, fermenting), handcrafts (sewing, weaving, basketry, woodworking), and much more! This class is appropriate for all ages 7 and over. If you miss a session, there will a recording available to watch if one or more other learners attended that session. Tags: Wilderness survival, primitive skills, rewilding, bushcraft, homestead, farm, homeschool, climate change, global warming, girl scout, boy scout, home school, resilience, self-reliance, self-sufficiency, DIY.
學習目標
Each week learners will gain greater competence in a skill connected to survival and sustainability.

父母的引導和規範
The topics of injury and death are inherent in the subject of survival, but not the focus of the class. I practice sensitivity in discussing potentially scary content.
Learners are advised to use adult supervision when practicing any of the skills I share in my class. This may include fire-making, tool usage, water purification, overnight camping, hunting, trapping, and cooking.
Occasionally we will cover the importance of hunting/trapping/fishing as sustainable food sources. No slaughter will be shown. During these specific classes there may be footage of processing meat for cooking (skinning and butchering). These classes will be titled to notify families of their subject matter.
Although I am a certified Wilderness Medical First Responder, in accordance with Outschool policy, I will not be offering medical training or medical services. There will be no graphic medical footage in this class.
