In this course, students will review letter sounds, then use them to build, read, and write CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words. We will also learn a few sight words (so that we can read sentences)! Reading CVC words is a foundational early reading skill, and sets students up to successfully decode larger words. During this class, we will use whiteboards, word sorts, chants, and games to gain lots of exposure to CVC words. With practice, learners will become fluent in reading these...
Before graduating college, I worked as an afterschool tutor for students grades K-6 for 2 years. I earned a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Weber State University in 2014. I taught 1st grade for 4 years before becoming a stay-at-home mother.
