Hello and welcome! My name is Matt Gardner and I’ve been performing and teaching drums and percussion for over 2 decades now! I’ve performed in many different styles of venues for both drum set and percussion/marching percussion. I grew up in a musical family, went to school for music, and most importantly, have been helping students achieve their goals now as well. My teaching philosophy is simple, whether you are a beginner or advanced. I have a straight to the point approach with techniques, tips, ect, that are proven to work. I like to have fun when teaching any level, and I love it when my students accomplish their goals! Classes I will be teaching are drum set beginners, intermediate, and advanced which includes hand and foot exercises, groove and style studies, performing set up and tuning tips. Students will perform for each other. Other classes are, Rudimental and snare drum fundamentals for beginning band students. Basic music theory ( for drummers and non drummers.) Learning to count rhythms ( open to all drummers and non drummers alike.) Hand chop development for drum line. Developing moellar and push pull techniques.
