*This class is for ages 9-12. Please look at my profile for this same drawing class for teens* Ready, set... SKETCH! Dream of drawing like a PRO? In this class, we’ll DRAW EVERYTHING while learning foundational techniques to take your art to the next level! GOAL As a professional artist who specialized in old master drawing and painting methods, my goal is to teach learners essential tools so that they can create confidently and independently in any style. ABOUT Each week, we’ll sketch something new—animals, characters, cool buildings, or even slime! For more FUN, learners are welcome to choose what to draw. As we draw, we’ll practice basic techniques like shading, perspective, and texture to take our art to the next level. This class is laidback and fun. Each class is different and does not build on each other so it is perfect for busy artists. WHAT IS COVERED As we draw various topics, we will cover these techniques and/or focuses: Shapes, Contour/Lines, Mark Making, Measuring, Positive/Negative Spaces, Thumbnails/Ideas, Draw from Life, Light and Shadow, Shading/Blending, Symmetry, Textures, Perspective, Anatomy, Composition, Telling a Story, Details, Expression/Movement SCHEDULE Classes are on Mondays at 7pm EST, Tuesdays at 3:30pm EST, Fridays at 4:40pm EST, and Saturdays at 10am EST *Note - topics may change as learners are welcome to suggest topics they need help with.* -Week of Jan 5, 2025 Snake - Learn how to draw textures -Week of Jan 12, 2025 Portrait - Learn anatomy and practice symmetry -Week of Jan 19, 2025 Room - Learn and practice 1 point perspective -Week of Jan 26, 2025 House - Learn and practice 2 point perspective -Week of Feb 2, 2025 Skyscraper - Learn and practice 3 point perspective -Week of Feb 9, 2025 Hands - Learn anatomy by drawing a human hand -Week of Feb 16, 2025 Feet - Learn how to draw dinosaur/dragon feet -Week of Feb 23, 2025 Map - Practice drawing things from a birds eye view and practice using different marks -Week of Mar 2, 2025 Create your own Landscape/Still life - Learn about composition/design -Week of Mar 9, 2025 Character Hiding - Learn how to tell a story -Week of Mar 16, 2025 Guitar in a room - Learn about adding details -Week of Mar 23, 2025 Eyes - Learn how to draw different expressions Drawing doesn't need to be a mystery! Students will learn different techniques such as proportions, anatomy, texture, shading, light and shadow, and line so that they will be able to use these tools to figure out how to draw independently at home.

I graduated from Grand Central Atelier in New York City where I was trained to draw and paint realistically in a traditional way. While I usually draw realistically, I also enjoy using this approach to draw in different styles. My goal is to teach children the tools of drawing and give them the opportunity to practice applying them so that they will be able to draw what they want independently.評論
