National Visual Art Standard 1: Artists and designers shape artistic investigations, following or breaking with traditions in pursuit of creative art making goals.
Organic shape is the art vocabulary term with space as the element of art, repetition as the principal of design and text as the modern element of art. 
This lesson plan embraces student voice and choice as we develop craft (studio habit of mind).  Students will learn to use tools & materials and the practices of an art form.
This lesson reinforces an enduring understanding; Through art-making, people make meaning by investigating and developing awareness of perceptions, knowledge and experiences.
We explore an essential question; How does making art attune people to their surroundings?
This lesson is one used in beginning drawing classes to advanced drawing classes with the goal to reconnect students with a fun learning experience that happens through play. 

I have 6 years and counting of being a public school art teacher, that includes teaching AP Drawing.  My time teaching includes in person and online/virtual.  I am licensed in K-12 Visual Arts in both Minnesota and Michigan and have a Master’s of Education from the University of Minnesota.

No pre-reqs required for this class, although there is great value for beginners through advanced drawing students.
