Modern anime and manga have some of the coolest characters you can draw, and they can really be brought to life with a focus on enhanced detail and dynamic poses. We start with basic shapes for body structure, then walk through adding elements step-by-step until we have a clearly defined line art character ready for shading and coloring. Students should have solid experience with pencil drawing, as well as a good attitude and a love of cool characters, especially from anime and manga. We...
Students will learn a step-by-step process to lay out the structure of a character and apply proportion and perspective for a variety of poses, then adding details to make a truly compelling character drawing. These are skills that can be applied well outside of class, and far beyond just drawing for anime and manga.
