In this portrait class we will be drawing self portraits from Kahlo, Van Gogh, Picasso and Matisse's Green Stripe which is a portrait of his wife. We will discuss the importance of self portraits and and how they are created. I will also point out how each artist approaches their portraits. The students will learn basic measuring of the face and how the parts relate to each other. I will be teaching them tools to build their drawing using simple shapes, relating, shading, drawing light and...
The students will be learning and practicing following directions paying attention to details staying calm when the line is not correct not erasing everything and starting over but finding the small correction trusting themselves how to correct the drawing improve and build confidence in their drawing skills building confidence while having fun
Plastic protective sheet, dry erase maker, paper, pencil, eraser, sharpened color pencils and the four photos printed out.
