Class Experience

Ever dreamed of designing your own epic Wings of Fire Hybrid or Tribrid? This 4-day camp is your chance! We'll cover the basics of dragon anatomy, learn cool art techniques, and explore the fascinating world of dragon combinations. Get ready to draw, create, and share your unique dragon creations with fellow fans! No prior drawing experience needed, just a passion for Wings of Fire!

Unleash Your Inner Dragon Artist!

Ready to breathe fire into your artwork? In this dynamic dragon drawing class, you'll learn to wrangle these mythical creatures onto paper, one powerful shape at a time. We'll start by breaking down dragons into easy-to-digest forms, then build them back up with personality and detail. Think of it as dragon anatomy 101, but way more fun!

Each session is a chance to level up your skills. We'll tackle everything from foreshortening (making those dragons look like they're leaping off the page!) to texture (giving their scales that realistic shimmer). You'll get personalized feedback on your drawings, so you can watch your skills soar.

Your Dragon Flight Plan:

Step-by-step guidance: Follow along and ask questions – no dragon-related query is too big or too small!
Live feedback: Show off your work throughout the class for encouragement and tips. Stuck on a wing? Need help with a snout? We've got you covered.
Hybrid Dragons Unleashed: Let your imagination run wild! Create your own unique dragon species or follow along as we cook up some crazy crossbreeds together.
Your Art, Your Way: Whether you prefer classic pencil sketches, vibrant digital art, or colorful markers, all mediums are welcome. Use what makes your artistic heart sing!
Gear Up for Dragon Drawing:

Just grab your trusty paper, pencil, and eraser. (Check out the specific supply list for each lesson for any extras). Digital artists, colored pencil enthusiasts, and marker mavens are all encouraged to join the fun!

Get ready to unleash your inner dragon and create some truly legendary art!

~ IMPORTANT~ Be on time for class!
This is a step-by-step lesson, and you need to be on time. If your artist is late, I will let them in class, and they can participate where we are in the drawing. I will offer your artist the option of doing the complete lesson on the recording after class has finished and the lesson has been uploaded to the cloud.

BEFORE CLASS
Students should log into class about 5 minutes before the scheduled start time. This allows you time to resolve technical issues with your device's connection. If you use a battery-powered device (laptop, iPad, etc), be sure it is fully charged or connected to the power supply.
I will use this time for students to show me any art they have completed and any questions before starting the class session.

START OF CLASS
First, we will review the supplies needed for the lesson and ask each student their name. I encourage students to use the chatbox during class for questions. If they have an answer to my questions, they are then allowed to unmute to answer the question. I love class participation! Especially when we learn from each other about art!

Then, I will begin the step-by-step process of drawing out our character in easy-to-follow instructions. Each step will be broken down to the simplest form using common shapes like circles and lines. My favorite is comparing shapes to food! Like a potato or a pizza. This frees the artist to allow for imperfections in their initial sketch. Once we build our character, we will add details, texture, shading, and form to our drawing. If it is a painting, we will add it using watercolor paints.

My teaching style is very patient and fun! We love to laugh and enjoy being creative together. My passion is to inspire kids to be innovative, hoping to build their confidence as artists and individuals. Each student is important and contributes to the class.

END OF CLASS
At the end of class, each student can show their work on the screen and tell the class about it! This is a big confidence booster! You can see how much they worked and listened in class when they hold up their final art piece! Thank you for encouraging your artist to be creative!

Unleash your inner artist with drawing lessons for young creators!
I dream of making a fun space for young people to feel safe, be creative, and build confidence!
Do you have a young artist who loves drawing:

Dragons like Toothless from HTTYD or the fierce tribes of Wings of Fire?
The brave cats of Warrior Clans or the wonders of real animals?
Maybe their imagination wants to create something entirely new!
No matter what they love to draw, I'm here to help them learn and grow!

My passion is to inspire young people to:
~Find courage and confidence in their creativity.
~Master the skills to bring their artistic visions to life.
~Have fun and enjoy the process of creating.

From basic drawing techniques to exploring different mediums, my interactive classes are designed to:
~Build confidence and self-esteem.
~Spark the imagination and fuel creativity.
~Develop essential skills like observation and problem-solving.
~Most importantly, foster a lifelong love for art!

Whether your young artist is a beginner or wants to refine their skills, I have a class for them!

My journey began with sketching as a child and working on graphic designs for T-shirts as a teen. As an adult, I have designed and painted larger-than-life murals and now teach art classes to the public. I currently teach weekly live worldwide art classes online. I get in-person interaction with my local events for those in the Houston, Texas, area!

I reside in Houston, Texas, and I am a retired homeschooled mom of three. (My last kid graduated in 2024). And a proud U.S. Marine Mom! When not putting my latest art onto paper, I can be found "pumping iron" at the gym with my husband of over 27 years. My family is very committed to saving animals, and our house is always full of foster animals from our local animal shelter! Beware, you may see or hear a puppy, kitten, or guinea pig in a live class!

My passion is inspiring young people to find courage and confidence in their creations! Imagination is the doorway to being able to express yourself and be happy!
Motto: Be who you needed when you were younger.
