課堂經歷
In this ongoing class learners will learn techniques for figure drawing and some impressionist ideology from the french impressionist, Edgar Degas - as four of our drawings will be of his artwork. This class is great to come and go as you please, drop in and draw any week with simple art supplies that you probably have on hand. We will draw a different ballerina each week for a total of six weeks. I like to keep class relaxed and open to conversation and questions any time. We will cover drawing techniques including sketching, shading, composition, and proportion. Week 1: Draw "Danseuse, Dancer." - Degas Week 2: Draw modern ballerina (black) Week 3: Draw "Little Dancer." - Degas Week 4: Draw "Dancer in Green." - Degas Week 5: Draw modern ballerina (white) Week 6: Draw "La Pastiche Star Dancer." - Degas
學習目標
Students will learn to look at shape and value, and to draw the human figure as they see it. They will learn art techniques that will help with whatever they choose to draw in the future. Students will have the opportunity to share their artwork and receive feedback several times during class. They will learn a bit of impressionism ideology and art history as we explore the work of Edgar Degas in France. Learners can relax and enjoy practicing art and conversation skills and be empowered by improving in both.

Pencils, erasers, ruler, and paper. ✏️✏️✏️✏️✏️✏️✏️✏️✏️✏️✏️✏️✏️✏️✏️✏️✏️ Regular school pencils are just fine but art pencils will add to the learners experience as we will briefly discuss the different pencils and how to use them. I also highly recommend a kneaded eraser. The ruler is optional and is used to draw a grid to aid with depicting correct proportion.

Hello! I am BriAnn Ongesel. I have taught online classes for over 7 years and over 2 years here on Outschool. I teach art classes to ages 5-17.
I have my bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from Brigham Young University Idaho. I also studied UX/UI design from California Institute of the Arts. I am currently a freelance designer, online teacher, and mother of four.
I believe that the best learning comes from doing. Students learn from practicing the principles taught and from sharing what they learn with their peers. It is important to have fun in my classes, as well as talking with other students about class concepts and similar interests. Learning is about chasing what excites you and diving into all you can with it.
My hobbies include reading, drawing, and baking. I love good food - including 'nicecream', butternut squash, and cheesecake.
