In this one-time class, your child will embark on a journey to uncover the rich history and significance of Juneteenth, the celebration of African American freedom. Through engaging storytelling, interactive activities, and meaningful discussions, students will gain a deeper understanding of the events leading to Juneteenth and its relevance today.

What will be taught?
The history and origins of Juneteenth
Key events leading to the emancipation of enslaved African Americans
The significance of Juneteenth celebrations in American history and culture

Topics Covered:
🔴Introduction to Juneteenth: Understanding its historical context and importance.
🔴Exploring Emancipation: Learning about the abolition of slavery and its impact.
🔴Celebrating Freedom: Discovering how Juneteenth is celebrated today and its cultural significance.

Class Structure:
This class is structured to maximize engagement and learning through a variety of activities:
🔴Interactive storytelling sessions to bring history to life.
🔴Group discussions to encourage critical thinking and reflection.
🔴Hands-on activities such as creating Juneteenth flags or banners.
