數位藝術：在 Procreate 上繪製卡哇伊食物

During this weekly, ongoing class, students will learn to draw food in the kawaii art style using a step-by-step method. Even though we're using a step-by-step method, students are encouraged to make the art pieces their own by selecting their own colors or adding their own details. We will draw using an IPAD (or IPhone and stylus), an Apple Pencil (or Logitech Crayon), and the app Procreate. The students must have these tools to follow along with the instruction.

This class requires the app Procreate. The app can be purchased for around $10 USD from the apple store. Please check device compatibility. 

Sometimes, the students can vote to either color or draw something else. If the students choose to draw something else, the students will be encouraged to color after class and share it with everyone during the next class or post it to the classroom wall to share with everyone.

If the student is slow at drawing or coloring, it's okay! We all create at our own pace, but unfortunately, we only have the time that we have so the student may be encouraged to finish their piece after class. The classes are recorded so the students are able to watch the recording, go at their own pace (by pausing the video), and try to draw it again.

My goal for this class is to not only teach the students how to draw, but to also give the students practice and techniques to improve their artistic skills on a regular basis. Practice = progress.

During the class, we will socialize and talk about our favorite foods and about our art journeys. We may also talk about different features on the Procreate app. Students don't need to have prior knowledge of Procreate as I will be showing them a detailed insight to my art process, using the Procreate app. 

⚠️ Note: Sometimes, we may draw holiday themed foods like a Christmas pudding, a birthday cake, or Halloween candy. If you don't celebrate holidays, please reach out so we can discuss it. Thanks!

This class is learner directed. Each week, the students will take turns choosing what they would like to draw, within reason.

Knowledge of prior drawing classes will not be necessary since there will be new food to draw every week. Students can join this class at any point without getting lost. This is a no pressure class. We are just drawing, socializing, and having fun! 

Students will have the option to share their drawing during class, if they want to.

I will be using a webcam (face) and a screenshare from my IPAD to share what I'm drawing on Procreate.

Students may be muted if there is a lot of background noise or if other students are talking. Please show them how to unmute themselves when they are ready to talk. Thanks!
