This club is to give students skills in communication as they discuss the Percy Jackson series. They will discuss the characters (demigods, Gods/Goddesses, e.t.c), the story's plot, the literary themes, and compare the original Greek myths to the modernized version during each session of the club. Students will improve their critical thinking skills by asking questions and solving problems. Students will improve their communication skills as they consider each other's thoughts, opinions, and perspectives. Students will learn how to be open to other ideas and perspectives as they discuss the series together. Students will learn how to come to a compromise of differences while still holding to their own opinion/belief/idea.

Any subject presented in the Percy Jackson series will be open to possible discussion. This is may include the character backstories where some have experienced death, loneliness, bullies, e.t.c. as well as the adventures the characters go on where monsters attack and violence is a part of the series. Any discussion will be in context of the series only and students are discouraged from sharing personal information.
