Dangling modifiers sound difficult to work with when we read a description of them, but when we actually work with them to correct them, they are easy to spot and easy to correct.

In this lesson, learners will learn what a dangling modifier is. We will look at the absence of subjects, and the rules of how to avoid dangling modifiers. Learners will learn how funny dangling modifiers sound to a reader. We will work with amusing sentences such as “Wearing my pyjamas, the elephant ran away from me.”

I will use examples with possessive determiners, adjectives and demonstrative determiners.

Learners can ask questions and interact with me freely throughout the lesson as well as with other learners.

The theory of this lesson may be difficult for learners to understand, but all sections of theory will be backed up with examples for the student to learn from and also examples for them to correct themselves.
