What will be taught?

Students will be using a daily math strategy in order to review or prepare for third grade math.  We will be covering ALL third grade math standards in a spiral review format.  I have been teaching third grade for 7 years!  I have found great success with implementing this in my classroom. 

What topics will you cover?
ALL fourth grade common core math standards. 

How is your class structured?
Each week when we meet we will cover math problems.  I will use strategies and manipulatives for each problem.  At the end of the week I will post an assessment that covers all of the material we covered that week.  Students can choose to complete their assessment and use the answer key to check their work. 

How will you teach?
I will model, use strategies, and use manipulatives to help students master third grade math standards. 
Teaching style?
Engaging, fun, with an emphasis on spiraling back through past content in order to help students memorize standards. 

Students should be using this class to prepare or review for third grade math! 

Week 1: Feb. 27 and Feb. 29
Addition, Subtraction, Time, Word Problems

Week 2: March 5 and March 7
Addition, Subtraction, Rounding, Charts/Graphs

Week 3: March 12 and March 14
Patterns, Shapes, Word Problems

Week 4: March 19 and March 21
Rounding, Multiplication, Word Problems

This curriculum has a spiral review format.  Students are practicing similar skills each week.
